Tips from Public Help Find Missing 11-Year-Old Auburn Hills Girl

Tavia Bentley was found safe Monday evening in Detroit after she went missing from her grandmother's home early Sunday morning.

Tavia Bentley, who was , was recovered safely Monday evening in Detroit, according to Auburn Hills Police. Tavia's noncustodial father, Sebastian Campbell, was taken into custody without incident in the 14000 block of Dolphin Street in Detroit.

Police, working in conjunction with several other law enforcement agencies, located Tavia with help from the public. The Troy and Southfield Police Departments Special Investigation Units, Bloomfield Township Police, the U.S. Marshall’s Office, the Maryland State Police and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children all assisted in locating Tavia and taking Campbell into custody.

Detectives are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the parental abduction. Meanwhile, Campbell will be lodged at the Oakland County Jail pending a review of the case by the Oakland County Prosecutor, Auburn Hills police said.
