Recall Janice Daniels Kicks Off Fundraising; Troy Mayor Also Seeks Donations

Voters in Troy will decide on Nov. 6 whether to recall Troy Mayor Janice Daniels.

The group Recall Janice Daniels, which hopes to , officially kicked off fundraising efforts Sunday at an event held at  in Troy. Tickets were $25 each, though donations can also be made on the group's website.

Meanwhile, on her personal website, Daniels has also been collecting monetary donations to fight the recall effort against her. A statement on the site reads:

You may have read that there is a small group of citizens who have filed a petition attempting to remove me from office after only four months into my first four year term. Although this is a legal option within the American system, we believe that if we could all work together we could achieve great outcomes in Troy. I was elected by the majority of the voters in Troy to address fiscal transparency and integrity in budgeting.
