Troy, Here's How You Voted by Precinct

While it was impossible to ask why every Troy resident voted the way they did in the special mayoral election on Tuesday, official figures by precinct help explain how they voted.

The voter turnout rate came to about 22 percent, reports Troy City Clerk Aileen Bittner. Of 58,256 registered voters, 12,688 voted via absentee ballots or turned out to the polls (official figures).

"We had a little bit of the rush in the afternoon which picked up our numbers overall," Bittner said Tuesday night.

Earlier Tuesday afternoon, Oakland County Election Director Joe Rozell had reported a slimmer figure of between 12-15 percent voter turnout rate after a quiet morning at the polls.

Dane Slater won 15 precincts, with 6,394 total votes or 50.39 percent of the vote. His strongest precincts were 8 and 23.

Knollenberg won four precincts, with largest margins of victory coming in from the combined precincts 17/20 and 7/18. Scott T. Welborn, the third-place finisher, had his highest tally at the combined precincts 2/10, while fourth-place finisher David Elsas had 46 votes at combined precincts 15/21.
