Troy Schools Closed Tuesday Due to Inclement Weather

Wind chills could drop the real-feel temperature as low as -35 degrees.

The Troy School District will be closed Tuesday due to inclement weather, including freezing temperatures.

Southeast Michigan is under a wind chill advisory through Wednesday morning, with real-feel temperatures plunging to -35 degrees, the National Weather Service in Detroit says. As of Tuesday afternoon, clickondetroit.com announced over 200 school closings in the Metro Detroit area.

District officials posted to its Facebook Page, "Cancelling school is never an easy decision, but with wind chill forecasts of -30 to -40 degrees, it is unsafe for our students to be outside waiting for buses or walking to school."

How will your children spend the day? Are you against canceling school due to cold? Tell us in the comments.
