James Young will play in a game that boasts Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson as alumni.

Rochester High School basketball standout James Young will play in the McDonald's All-American Game in Chicago in April.

Young, a 6-foot-7 senior who has committed to play for the Kentucky Wildcats, is the only Michigan high school athlete chosen for the honor.

It's the 36th year for the all-star game; since 1978 more than 1,100 players have participated, including Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James. The game raises money for the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

The game will be played at 9:30 p.m. April 3 and will be broadcast live on ESPN.

However, news on Thursday wasn't entirely kind to the Falcons (12-2), who learned of an injury to Young's calf which could keep him out until March. The Detroit Free Press reports that Young is expected to miss games this week against Troy Athens and Romulus, as well as next week's cross-town showdown with Rochester Adams.
