White Chapel Memorial Park Hosts Package Drive

Cemetery teams with Military Moms United to bring some home and comfort to deployed troops in fourth annual drive.

wil host its Fourth Annual Care Package Drive and will team with Military Moms United to provide some comfort to military troops stationed overseas.

The drive, which runs 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. today through Sept. 17, will be held at the White Chapel Cemetery, 621 W. Long Lake Road, west of I-75, in the Temple of Memories. The drive will collect new items  that troops might ordinarily find in their homes in Michigan.

"Our military troops overseas are working hard on our behalf every day and we want to do what we can to create a little bit of home and comfort," said David R. Krall, vice president and general counsel of White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery.

"We're looking forward to seeing a lot of people come through our gates and support our troops who are enduring harsh conditions in Afghanistan and in Iraq. What better way to honor the victims of 9/11 on the 10th anniversary of that tragic day than by supporting our troops with some care packages from home."

Contributions may be left at the Temple of Memories. Suggested donations include:
