  • Are you registered to vote? If you're planning on casting a ballot in the Troy City Council and Troy School District bond election on Nov. 5, you'll need to be registered with the state. The League of Women Voters of Troy Area hosts a voter registration drive at the Troy Public Library (510 W. Big Beaver Rd., Troy) on Tuesday, Sept. 24 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Click here for more information.
  • The Troy City Council meets on Monday, Sept. 23 at 7:30 p.m. Among the agenda items, a public hearing is scheduled before council votes on the brownfield redevelopment plan to benefit the MJR Troy Grand Digital Cinema 16. Click here for more information.
  • The Troy Nature Society is sponsoring a day at Hidden Lake Gardens in Tipton. Explore one of Michigan’s finest public garden experiences on Tuesday, Sept. 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost is $35/person and includes coach transportation, garden admission, and garden tour.   • If you or someone you know is struggling with Alzheimer's disease, it would be worth the time to visit a free education workshop on Tuesday, Sept. 24 from 9-11 a.m. at the Troy Community Center (3179 Livernois Rd., Troy - room 304). A representative from the Alzheimer's Association - Greater Michigan Chapter will discuss symptoms and effects of AD and other types of dementia, causes and risk factors, benefits of early detection, how to address a diagnosis of AD, stages of the disease, treatment, and how the Alzheimer's Association can help.   • To help raise awareness of domestic violence, a "Silent Witness Remembrance Service," honoring domestic violence victims in Oakland, Macomb and Wayne counties, will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 2:30 p.m., at Beaumont Hospital, Troy (44201 Dequindre Rd., Troy).
