Marching Band Festival At Troy High, Candidate's Night and More

  • The Troy High School (4777 Northfield Parkway, Troy) marching band hosts eight area marching bands on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. Tickets are now on sale at $3 for adults; $2 for seniors and students.
  • The League of Women Voters of Troy Area will hold its candidate's night on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Walsh College auditorium (3838 Livernois Rd., Troy). This program is nonpartisan and will be shown as many times as possible on CMN public access TV channel and video on demand through your computers via the CMN website.
  • The Troy Garden Club hosts Jim Slezinski, a senior landscape designer and horticulturist, on Wednesday at 11:45 a.m. at the Big Beaver United Methodist Church (3753 John R Rd., Troy). Slezinski will discuss the care and feeding of bulbs - both hardy and tender, the prevention of critter damage, diseases and insect problems, storage and fertilizing, as well as site selection. 
  • The Oakland County Health Division will offer flu shots recommended for ages six months and older in room 304/305 of the Troy Community Center (3179 Livernois Rd., Troy) on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 10 a.m. Bring picture ID with current address and Medicare/Medicaid card for billing.  For those without Medicare/Medicaid, the fee is $20.
  • Beaumont Hospital, Troy (44201 Dequindre Rd., Troy) hosts a breast health fair on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. The health fair will feature information on Beaumont's comprehensive breast care centers, sharing and caring program and more.
