Update: Troy Police Arrest Suspected "Cat" Burglars Friday

UPDATE: Troy Police Department Investigators have arrested four subjects in connection with the “cat” burglaries, according to a Friday police report. Both of the reported stolen vehicles have been recovered. Thorough investigations into the home invasions are still being conducted. At this time, the names of the arrested subjects will not be released until their arraignment on the applicable charges.   According to a Troy Police report, two homes within the city were victimized by "cat" burglars during the overnight hours of Jan. 30. The two homes were in close proximity to one another on Rhodes and Truffle Streets, in the Big Beaver and Dequindre vicinity. Troy Police: Bentley Driver Assaults Man Ogling His Car; Men Fight at Gym

Troy Police responded to the 1000 block of Devon Lane early Saturday morning after receiving several calls about a large fight involving a knife in the condominium complex. Officers spoke with the victim, who said he and his friends and family had been in a vehicle together when a white, newer model Bentley convertible pulled up next to their car. The victim told police that he and several people in the car stared at the Bentley, which caused the occupants of the Bentley to swear at them, according to a Troy Police media release. The victim said the Bentley followed them when they went to drop off friends at the condominium complex. The following is a recap of recent news from the Troy Police Department: Troy Police officers responded to Burger King Thursday evening after receiving reports of an assault in progress. Officers spoke with both men involved in the fight. A 17-year-old from Troy told police he threw a cup at a duck outside the restaurant. According to a Troy Police media release, the teen then said the suspect, a 23-year-old Farmington Hills man, yelled at the teen. After the teen yelled back, he said the man approached him and hit him in the head several times. The suspect told police he saw the teen throw a cup and try to kick the duck, so he told the teen to leave the bird alone. He said the teen swore at him and taunted him. The man admitted to Police …

The following is a recap of recent news from the Troy Police Department: An 18-year-old Detroit woman was apprehended and charged Tuesday afternoon with uttering and publishing when Bank of America employees called Troy Police after realizing the woman was attempting to cash a fraudulent check. According to a Troy Police Department media release, the woman had presented a $1,978.12 check drawn on a Marygrove College account. When the check was determined to be fraudulent, the woman said an acquaintance had given her the check to cash and was waiting outside, but had left when police arrived. The following is a recap of recent news from the Troy Police Department: An employee at Maggiano's Restaurant reported to Troy Police that a woman had ordered $1,180.33 in food on June 9, which she had delivered to a home. The food was paid for with a business check that was later found to be fraudulent. Troy officers responded to a report of a hit and run on the Rochester Road exit ramp from Interstate 75 Friday evening. According to a witness, a pickup truck had hit another vehicle and then fled the scene. The witness followed the truck long enough to get a license plate, and Troy officers soon located and stopped the vehicle, which was driving across two lanes. The 21-year-old Detroit man was taken into custody. While in custody, officers found a small bag of marijuana in the man's pocket. Neighbor Puts Out Flaming Shrubs with Hose; Heroin, Needles Found at Park

The following is a recap of recent news from the Troy Police Department: A man on the 4000 block of Rambling reports that four full-grown arborvitae shrubs were found engulfed in flames in a resident's back yard. A neighbor was able to extinguish the fire with a garden hose. The cause of the fire is not known. Troy officers responded to a call at Robinwood Park early Tuesday morning after someone reported seeing suspicious persons. When officers arrived, two people were seen running from the shelter. Upon searching the area, officers found a half gallon of vodka, a 22-ounce beer, six hypodermic needles and a substance that tested positive for heroin at the scene. The following is a recap of recent news from the Troy Police Department: A 22-year-old Troy man is facing charges after he allegedly hit two trees and a road sign with his vehicle before fleeing the scene and leaving the vehicle behind, according to a Troy Police media release. The incident occurred just after 2:30 a.m. Saturday near Rambling and Rambling court. Officers arrived at the scene and found the vehicle with its airbag deployed and blood on the driver's side airbag. The following is a recap of recent news from the Troy Police Department: A 17-year-old Troy girl reported she had been assaulted at a classmate's home on the 2000 block of London last Friday afternoon. The girl said she and a third female classmate argued, and the girl then pulled the victim's hair, punched her in the face and pulled her sweater over her head, according to a Troy Police media release. According to the victim, a fourth classmate pulled the girl off the victim and escorted the victim from the home. The victim received minor injuries that did not require medical attention.
