I got an Acer Chromebook. Didn't ask for it and am not sure it will be useful for me. Kind of scratching my head over what niche market it is supposed to fulfill, it's not a laptop (on-the-go PC) nor a tablet (which would be useful for digital magazines and newspapers).   more ›

The holidays are certainly a magical time of year, and we are proud to have been a part of many of the holiday preparations and celebrations in Troy over the past few weeks. From capturing Troy's tree-lighting ceremony on video and stumbling across young carolers near Hamilton Elementary School to covering the return of the founder of the Troy High School band program to conduct this year's holiday concert, it has been my pleasure to cover Troy both during the holidays and over the past year. The North American Aerospace Defense Command has a website that now offers a Santa tracker mobile app to follow the jolly man's magical flight.

They sent him their wish lists, sat on his lap and left cookies and milk for his arrival. Now the only thing left for children to do is track Santa's progress as he delivers gifts around the world on Christmas Eve. Thanks to the folks behind the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) website, families worldwide can now follow Santa's Christmas journey in real time. Christmas Eve Mall Hours in Troy

Here's when The Somerset Collection and Oakland Mall will be open on Monday, Dec. 24.

Have some last-minute shopping to do? Have no fear – Troy's two malls are both open on Christmas Eve. Here are their hours. The Somerset Collection The collection will open Monday, Dec. 24 at 9 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. There will also be a special send-off for Santa Claus starting at 2 p.m. in the North Grand Court. The Somerset Collection is closed on Christmas Day and will re-open Wednesday at 9 a.m. Oakland Mall Oakland Mall will open Monday, Dec. 24 at 7 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. It is closed on Christmas Day and will re-open Wednesday at 10 a.m.
