UPDATE: Missing Elderly Man Located, Returned Home Safely

Jon Lawrence Vieux, 73, went missing Thursday morning from a neighborhood near The Somerset Collection.

UPDATE (9:45 a.m. on Nov. 23) – Jon Lawrence Vieux, missing since Thursday morning, has been located and safely returned home, according to Troy Police. Troy Police are actively searching for a missing mentally disabled adult, 73-year-old Jon Lawrence Vieux, who was last seen around 10:30 a.m. Thursday, when he went for a walk on Hamlet Drive in Troy (just northeast of The Somerset Collection). Vieux was last seen wearing prescription eyeglasses, vintage style black/red checkered pattern hunting jacket, blue jeans, and white colored tennis shoes. He is 6 feet tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds. Vieux lives in New York and was visiting family for Thanksgiving on Hamlet Drive. He is unfamiliar with the area and is on prescription …

Troy Police: Investigators Now Treating Missing Cyclist Case as Homicide

More than enough evidence was found in the basement of 55-year-old missing Troy cyclist Patrick Joseph Mikes' home for investigators to believe Mikes could not have survived the attack, Troy Police say.

Troy Police announced Thursday afternoon that they are no longer treating the disappearance of 55-year-old Troy resident Patrick Joseph Mikes as a missing person investigation, but instead as a homicide investigation.  "It is believed that it is highly unlikely for someone to survive based on the evidence that was involved," Troy Police spokesman Capt. Robert Redmond said Thursday afternoon at a press conference in Troy. “Investigators are treating this as a homicide." He added, “Our efforts have shifted from locating Mr. Mikes to locating his body.” Redmond said police are "working on a timeframe from Friday morning until Sunday morning" in order to give investigators "a better idea” of where to search for Mikes' body. Police Interview: Son is Suspect in Troy Cyclist's Disappearance

Troy resident Patrick Joseph Mikes Jr., 21, has been named a suspect in the disappearance of his 55-year-old father, Patrick Joseph Mikes, after reporting him missing Sunday morning.

Patrick Joseph Mikes Jr. was officially named a suspect in his father’s disappearance last week by Troy Police Wednesday morning following Mikes' arraignment at 52-3 District Court in Rochester Hills on charges of credit card fraud.  Here is a brief interview with Troy Police Department spokesman Capt. Police: 'Person of Interest' in Missing Cyclist Case Suspected of 'Financial Crimes'

The subject, who is a person of interest in the "violent altercation" inside the home of missing 55-year-old Troy bicyclist Patrick Joseph Mikes, is suspected of financial crimes in Auburn Hills.

A person of interest in the "violent altercation" inside the home of missing 55-year-old Troy resident Patrick Joseph Mikes may have been involved in financial crimes in Auburn Hills, according to a press release from the Troy Police Department. An investigation by the Auburn Hills Police Department led to the issuance of a warrant for the subject's arrest late Tuesday afternoon. The warrant was not issued before District Court closed, however, and Troy Police Department will keep the subject in custody until he or she may be formally charged and arraigned Wednesday morning.  Because the subject has not been formally charged or arraigned, his or her identity is not yet being released. Police: Assault Evident at Home of Missing Troy Bicyclist, Father

Police are asking for the public's help finding Troy resident Patrick Joseph Mikes, 55, who was last seen leaving his home on bicycle Friday afternoon.

The Troy Police Department is seeking information from the public regarding missing Troy resident Patrick Joseph Mikes, 55, who was last seen leaving his home on the 2000 block of Homewood on his bicycle Friday afternoon. In a press conference at the Troy Police station Monday afternoon, department spokesman Capt. Bob Redmond said there appeared to be signs of a struggle inside the home, though it is not yet known if the assault is related to Mikes' disappearance. "We found evidence indicating an assault took place at the residence," Redmond said. “This is an ongoing investigation.” An individual is currently in custody, though no charges have been filed, and the individual's identity has not been released.
