American Legion Seeks Donations, Items for Troops Overseas

Here are the items they need and where in Troy you can drop them off. Or, you can make a monetary donation to help offset the cost of shipping care packages overseas.

The following information was provided by the City of Troy. American Legion Post 14 in Troy is collecting items needed by our military men and women through TheDesertAngel.org. The organization’s mission is “Changing Our World ... One Miracle Box at A Time.”   Miracle boxes are located in Troy City Hall at the east and west entrances and will be in place until Thursday, Nov. 8. Desert Angels is a 100 percent volunteer organization that is wholly dependent on donations for shipping. They kindly request donations to help continue sending these miracle boxes of love to our troops.  The cost of shipping a Miracle Box is $15. White Chapel Cemetery Seeks Care Package Donations for Troops

The fifth annual "Little Bit of Home and Comfort" care package drive for overseas troops is held in remembrance of the victims of 9/11.

White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery in Troy will be hosting its Fifth Annual Care Package Drive to provide “a little bit of home and comfort” to overseas military troops.  White Chapel will be conducting a drive to collect new items for care packages that troops might ordinarily find in their homes back in Michigan.  White Chapel is working with the Michigan Military Moms, who will package the items collected and send them to overseas military personnel from Michigan. The care package drive will take place from 8 a.m.–6 p.m. from Sept. 9-17 at White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery in the Temple of Memories.   Michigan Military Moms are seeking the following items for the care packages:  A full list of suggested items to donate is available …

White Chapel Memorial Park Hosts Package Drive

Cemetery teams with Military Moms United to bring some home and comfort to deployed troops in fourth annual drive.

White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery wil host its Fourth Annual Care Package Drive and will team with Military Moms United to provide some comfort to military troops stationed overseas. The drive, which runs 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. today through Sept. 17, will be held at the White Chapel Cemetery, 621 W. Long Lake Road, west of I-75, in the Temple of Memories. The drive will collect new items  that troops might ordinarily find in their homes in Michigan. "Our military troops overseas are working hard on our behalf every day and we want to do what we can to create a little bit of home and comfort," said David R.
