Elderly Man Banned from Troy Beaumont; Valet Assaulted at Church

The following is a recap of recent news from the Troy Police Department. A 78-year-old Clinton Township man, whose wife was a patient at Beaumont Hospital in Troy, was banned from the hospital premises Friday after he made threats against hospital employees, according to a media release from the Troy Police Department On Saturday, Troy Police Communications was notified by another police department that the man had called another area hospital and made a threat. Troy officers conducted a follow-up investigation and found the man at Beaumont Hospital, Troy, according to the media release. He was cited for trespassing. Police Ask: Did This Man Sell You Phone, TV, Internet Service?

He is being charged with scamming customers in Troy out of thousands of dollars.

A 36-year-old Macomb Township man who police say posed as a phone, TV and internet salesman in Rochester Hills was charged Thursday with scamming people out of thousands of dollars. According to Oakland County Sheriff's Detective Ray White, Nameer Elias was arrested Tuesday in Rochester Hills. White said Elias approached several people in the city and offered them the services for one year for $1,000. He was not employed by any company that provided the services, White said. After collecting the money, Elias sometimes arranged for the service — and even paid the customer's bill for one or two months to avoid or delay suspician, White said. The following is a recap of recent news from the Troy Police Department: A 22-year-old Troy man is facing charges after he allegedly hit two trees and a road sign with his vehicle before fleeing the scene and leaving the vehicle behind, according to a Troy Police media release. The incident occurred just after 2:30 a.m. Saturday near Rambling and Rambling court. Officers arrived at the scene and found the vehicle with its airbag deployed and blood on the driver's side airbag. When Troy Police contacted the man, he first said the vehicle had been stolen, and then refused to say where he was, according to the media release. The following is a recap of recent news from the Troy Police Department: A 37-year-old West Bloomfield woman entered Kohl's on Coolidge on Monday evening accompanied by her 2-year-old son. Loss prevention officers watched the woman conceal five shirts and two pairs of sandals in her purse, according to a Troy Police report. The woman, who has an extensive criminal history according to police, was arrested on a charge of retail fraud in the second degree. Her son was turned over to a family member.
