I am a new resident of Ferndale.  I was born in Flint, went to high school in Fenton, and spent the last 8 years of my life in Grand Rapids.  I'm happy to be in a town that I feel very proud of.  I live with my puppy-mill rescue Maltese, Sweet Dee named after the TV show "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia".   She is shy and silly.  Sweet Dee and I are joined by my boyfriend Vance and his quirky cats Esther and Nigel.

I am an illustrator, and I usually have several projects going on at any given time.  Too bad I rarely get paid for them.  I love to sing, and am not spending enough time learning to play the keyboard.  I watch far too much TV. I always have and always will.  My personal heroes are Lucille Ball, Carol Burnett and Sarah Silverman.  I love quoting TV shows and movies within my everyday conversation.   I play the Sims 3 too much.

I love to run, and by bringing my dog Dee with me, I can focus my mind on things other than people possibly staring at me. She is not in good shape.  She is too long with short legs, so I got a dog stroller for my 27th birthday.  Dee seems to love the wind blowing through her fur, and I like the extra workout that the weight of the stroller gives me. (I really wish my treadmill fit in my apartment).

I'm obessed with my dog.  Sweet Dee was rescued from a puppy mill and I got her on August 4th, 2010.  She was 3 and a half years old.  Living in a puppy mill meant that she never left her cage, was never given proper care and her sole purpose was to birth puppies to be sold. She was terrified of everything, not house-trained, just had her top front teeth pulled, and had never been outside before.  She was as afraid of going out as I was, and we braved the world together as kindred spirits. She now is house-trained, can sit on command, loves playing chase, and recently became able to jump on the couch. She still has the worst breath in the world.  She is truly the love of my life.  If you want more info on puppy mills  contact me or google it.  Please, please adopt and never buy a pet from a pet store.
