MJR Troy Grand Public Hearing and More on the Agenda
Here's what the Troy City Council will discuss at Monday's meeting.
A public hearing is scheduled for Sept. 23, to take place before the Troy City Council votes on the brownfield redevelopment plan to benefit the MJR Troy Grand Digital Cinema 16.
Brownfields are associated with property that had been previously used for an industrial purpose. On Aug. 27, the city's brownfield redevelopment authority unanimously voted to recommend that city council reimburse the developers $498,079 to clean the site up.
Environmental concerns associated with the property included past automotive service operations which had been conducted there. As part of the demolition process, developers will remove mercury vapor lighting and asbestos insulation.
