Troy Schools Bond Election: Community Meetings Scheduled

Meetings are scheduled at four different schools in September and October.

The following information was submitted in a press release.

The Troy School District will hold four community meetings to inform citizens of Troy about the upcoming bond election. All community members are invited to attend and learn more, as well as ask any questions about the ballot issue.

Fast facts

  • The bond proposal is a zero increase to the current millage rate for the Troy School District .The rate that taxpayers pay for schools will not change if the bond issue passes.
  • The bond is divided into five basic areas: Safety and Security, Technology, Facilities and Sites, Instructional Equipment and Buses.
  • The bond is based on needs, not wants. It does not build new schools or undertake massive expansion projects. It’s about reusing space more efficiently and maintaining existing facilities.
  • The bond follows years of fiscally responsible reductions in spending and delayed projects. The Board of Education has made cumulative reductions of over $62 million in the past eleven years.

The Community Bond Information Nights will be held at 7 p.m. on:
